Hi, I'm Paco

I have worked for museums and cultural organizations for 15+ years as a creative director and digital media producer, having developed everything from immersive digital experiences to online collections. I specialize in combining the museum visitor experience with digital media, both on-site and online.

Always comfortable wearing different hats and striving to develop new skills, I consistently deliver innovative products and services for cultural institutions. My work has garnered numerous accolades including eight AAM Muse, Best of Museums and the Web, and Webby awards.

Recently, I had the privilege of serving as the head of media production for Qatar Museums. This involved leading staffing, training, and media production for all Qatari museums, special exhibitions, public art, and heritage sites. Prior to that, I worked for SFMOMA, managing the movement of a 24x7m Diego Rivera fresco mural to the museum. Before that, I produced immersive media for the Whitney Museum.

Between 2011 and 2015, I was the creative director of a workgroup that designed and developed public-facing digital experiences at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. We led the creation, production, presentation, and dissemination of multimedia content to support the viewing and understanding of The Met's collection and exhibitions. This included user experience design, content creation, audio guides, mobile apps, and interactive media.

Prior to that, I was the senior media producer at The J. Paul Getty Museum. This involved leading a talented team in the development of public-facing digital technologies and educational multimedia.

As a native of Oregon, my passion for culture and history led me to study archaeology and museology in Mexico City. Combining my background in cultural interpretation with emerging technologies, I produced in-gallery, content-rich, touchscreen interactives for museums across Mexico.

I am dedicated to empowering museums to encourage active participation among diverse audiences both on-site and globally.
